Karen Donatelli Cake Designs opened the bakery and café in 2012 downtown Asheville featuring a daily bakery case with croissants, brioche cakes, and pastries made from the finest ingredients. The bakery is located at 57 Haywood Street, downtown Asheville, NC.
No job is too big or too small -- whether it’s an awe-inspiring celebration or an early morning office meeting, Donatelli Cake Designs would love to create a confectionary centerpiece that will create inspired discussion long after the last bite.
Karen started her career at the age of 15 in a small hometown bakery. She then apprenticed at the 5star Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida before studying pastry at the Culinary Institute of America. Karen Donatelli Cake Designs is a family business which attributes to its success and appeal. Both Karen and her husband, Vincent are award-winning pastry chefs and their artisan confections have been featured in a variety of publications. Vincent is currently a professor in the Culinary Arts Department at AB-TECH.
